What is the big "takeaway" or things to really look out for in terms of what the test makers are going to ask/what they expect you to know recognize? I'm good at memorizing some of these definitions to identify them but I fail to see the big picture and have trouble w/ critical thinking/connecting the dotsįor instance, I know that alpha = OH on anomeric carbon pointing down and beta is the OH on the anomeric carbon pointing up. What is the main takeaway for approaching questions dealing with alpha and beta glycosidic linkages as well as L and D sugars?
